DrawingPhin Terms of Service

Last updated: August 5, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of DrawingPhin, an AI-assisted software service for mechanical drawing review, FAIR generation, auto-ballooning, and structured drawing analysis.

By creating an account, uploading a drawing, purchasing credits, subscribing to a plan, or using DrawingPhin, you agree to these Terms.

If you use DrawingPhin on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that company or organization to these Terms.

1. The Service

DrawingPhin provides software tools that may help users:

  • upload mechanical drawings;
  • extract drawing metadata, dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, datums, notes, and related information;
  • generate FAIR characteristics;
  • create ballooned drawing drafts;
  • identify drawing review findings;
  • edit, confirm, and organize extracted data;
  • export FAIR results as Excel (.xlsx) files, and drawing review reports as PDF or Word (.docx). Additional export formats may be added in the future.

DrawingPhin may change, improve, suspend, or discontinue features, supported file types, limits, pricing, or workflows from time to time.

2. AI Is an Assistance Tool

DrawingPhin uses AI, OCR, and software-based analysis to assist with drawing review and FAIR preparation.

AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a specific customer, OEM, regulatory, inspection, or quality system requirement.

DrawingPhin does not replace:

  • professional engineering review;
  • quality engineering judgment;
  • inspection planning approval;
  • customer or OEM approval;
  • regulatory compliance review;
  • AS9102 expert review;
  • manufacturing release review;
  • final human verification.

You are responsible for reviewing, correcting, validating, approving, and deciding whether to rely on any output generated by DrawingPhin.

3. No Professional Certification

DrawingPhin does not provide licensed engineering services, legal advice, regulatory approval, quality system certification, inspection certification, or professional engineering certification.

Any FAIR, drawing review report, ballooned drawing, export file, or other output generated through DrawingPhin is a software-generated work product that must be independently reviewed and verified by you.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

You agree to provide accurate account information and to use DrawingPhin only for lawful business or professional purposes.

You must not share account credentials, bypass access controls, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the service, or use another user's project, file, account, or download link.

5. Upload Rights

You must have the legal and contractual right to upload and process any drawing, file, technical data, or other content submitted to DrawingPhin.

You must not upload content that:

  • you are not authorized to process;
  • violates a customer contract, supplier agreement, NDA, or confidentiality obligation;
  • violates export control laws or restricted data rules;
  • contains malware or harmful code;
  • is unlawful, infringing, or abusive.

DrawingPhin does not independently determine whether you have the right to upload a particular drawing or file. You are responsible for the content you submit and for your use of the results.

6. Restricted Data

Unless DrawingPhin separately agrees in writing, you must not upload ITAR, CUI, government-controlled data, export-controlled technical data, or other specially restricted information.

DrawingPhin's standard service is not designed for ITAR hosting, FedRAMP, CUI handling, HIPAA compliance, dedicated tenant hosting, private cloud deployment, or other regulated data environments unless expressly agreed in a separate written agreement.

7. Customer Content

You retain ownership of the drawings, files, technical data, user corrections, project data, and export files that you submit to or generate through DrawingPhin.

You grant DrawingPhin a limited license to process Customer Content as needed to provide, secure, support, maintain, and improve the service. This may include upload, storage, analysis, OCR processing, AI processing, project saving, export generation, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, deletion workflows, and service reliability work.

Engineering Data is handled under the Engineering Data & AI Policy. Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy.

8. Plans, Credits, and Billing

DrawingPhin offers a Pay-as-you-go plan (no monthly fee, includes a one-time signup credit bonus) as well as paid subscription plans that include monthly credits. Users on any plan may purchase additional credit packages.

Credits may be consumed when you process drawings, run AI review, generate FAIR data, create exports, or use other resource-intensive features. Monthly subscription credits are consumed before purchased credits, and monthly credits do not roll over between billing periods; purchased credits do not expire but are subject to a maximum balance cap.

During the current early-access period, subscription and credit-package purchases may be provisioned manually rather than through fully automated self-serve checkout. This section will be updated once automated billing is live.

Credits may be consumed before final export because OCR, AI processing, storage, and backend processing may create cost during analysis.

Complex drawings, multi-page drawings, scanned drawings, low-quality images, drawings with many characteristics, or advanced review workflows may consume more credits than simple drawings.

Specific prices, included credits, expiration rules, monthly reset rules, purchased credit rules, and plan limits are described on the current Pricing and Credits page.

9. Refunds

Refunds are provided at DrawingPhin's discretion or where required by law.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • subscription fees are generally non-refundable after the billing period begins;
  • consumed credits are generally non-refundable;
  • credits may be returned if a processing job fails due to a DrawingPhin system error;
  • credits may still be consumed if processing resources were used on an unsupported, damaged, low-quality, invalid, or unsuitable file.

The current refund and credit rules may be described in the Pricing and Credits page.

10. Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • reverse engineer, copy, or resell the service except where legally permitted or expressly authorized;
  • scrape, overload, attack, or interfere with the service;
  • bypass credits, rate limits, access controls, permissions, or security mechanisms;
  • access or attempt to access another user's account, project, files, or exports;
  • upload malware or harmful code;
  • use DrawingPhin to process data you are not authorized to handle;
  • use DrawingPhin in a way that violates export control laws, privacy laws, intellectual property rights, or customer confidentiality obligations.

11. Third-Party Providers

DrawingPhin may use third-party providers for hosting, storage, authentication, OCR, AI model processing, payments, analytics, email, monitoring, security, and other service operations.

DrawingPhin may add, remove, or replace providers, models, infrastructure services, or processing methods without individual notice.

Custom review rules you author are processed the same way as your other Engineering Data: their text is sent to AI model providers as part of the review request. You are responsible for ensuring you are permitted to share the content of the rules you write.

DrawingPhin is not responsible for third-party services outside its control, but may use reasonable efforts to select reputable providers for service-related purposes.

12. Availability and Changes

DrawingPhin aims to provide a reliable service, but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

The service may be unavailable, delayed, limited, or interrupted due to maintenance, provider outages, AI/OCR provider failures, infrastructure limits, deployment issues, security incidents, abuse prevention, or other operational reasons.

DrawingPhin may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the service.

13. Beta and Experimental Features

Some features may be labeled beta, experimental, preview, early access, or similar.

Beta features may be less accurate, less stable, less supported, changed without notice, or removed.

You should not rely on beta features for final production, inspection, regulatory, customer, or release decisions without independent review.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

DrawingPhin is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.

DrawingPhin does not warrant that:

  • AI output will be error-free;
  • all dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, datums, notes, or requirements will be detected;
  • all drawing review findings will be complete or correct;
  • exported FAIR forms will meet every customer, OEM, auditor, or regulatory requirement;
  • the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or available at all times;
  • the service will meet every user requirement or workflow.

You are responsible for validating outputs before use.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DrawingPhin will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost production, rejected parts, quality escapes, customer chargebacks, loss of data, or loss of goodwill.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DrawingPhin's total liability for any claim relating to the service will be limited to the amount paid by you to DrawingPhin during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or another amount specified in a separate written agreement.

16. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold DrawingPhin harmless from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

  • your unauthorized upload or processing of third-party data;
  • your violation of customer contracts, supplier agreements, NDAs, or confidentiality obligations;
  • your violation of export control laws or restricted data rules;
  • your misuse of AI output or reliance on unverified output;
  • your breach of these Terms;
  • your unlawful use of the service.

17. Suspension and Termination

DrawingPhin may suspend or terminate access to the service if we believe that you have violated these Terms, failed to pay required fees, created security risk, attempted unauthorized access, abused the service, uploaded prohibited data, or used the service in a way that may harm DrawingPhin, other users, or third parties.

You may stop using DrawingPhin at any time and may request account deletion where supported by the service.

18. Governing Law

Unless otherwise required by applicable law or agreed in writing, these Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

19. Changes to These Terms

DrawingPhin may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are material, DrawingPhin may provide notice through the website, in-app notice, or email where appropriate.

Continued use of DrawingPhin after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
